So, you’ve made the leap and decided to welcome a new dog or puppy into your life...now what? Training starts the moment you bring your new dog home and, in some cases, even before that, so you will need to make sure that you prepare your home and family for the new addition.
Whether you have had dogs before or if this is your very first, we always recommend an in-home lesson with one of our trainers as soon as possible. Some of our clients even book these sessions for before they bring their new dog home, as we can give you tips and tricks on puppy-proofing, potty training, crate and boundary training and give you all the information you need to get your dog started off on the right paw the moment they become family.
After your in-home lesson, your next step is an introductory class - Puppy Kindergarten for puppies and Basic Manners for dogs over 5-6 months of age. Even if your dog knows the basics, they likely haven’t practiced them in a highly distracting environment like our training center, and practice like this is key to having a well-mannered, obedient dog.
If you have a new puppy, we strongly recommend our Puppy Socialization classes, which are incredibly beneficial and so much FUN for both puppies and their owners. These classes are run on a drop-in basis, although pre-registration is required. Puppy Socialization includes playtime with other puppies, as well as an introduction to new people, obstacles, surfaces, sounds, grooming tools, and so much more!
