"The materials and subjects were very well organized and easy to follow, and I was very impressed with the professionalism from Michelle, the instructor. The manual that came with this course was well organized and supplied the required information without getting bogged down in too many technical explanations. I was VERY impressed and would have no hesitation recommending any pet owner to take this course. In fact, I believe it is a duty that we owe to our little buddies - to know how to help them should they ever need it."
- Murray Preusche, recent Nanaimo DOGSAFE graduate
Robyn is a graduate of the DOGSAFE Canine First Aid course and gained tremendous benefits from the course, not only as a dog professional but as a dog owner as well. As a result, Robyn is now a DOGSAFE Host and has partnered with Michelle Sevigny, Founder and Head Instructor of DOGSAFE Canine First Aid, who instructs the hands-on course in Nanaimo. The courses are popular and fill up quickly, and everyone who works with dogs or lives with a dog companion should take this course.
THE COURSE
The goal of the DOGSAFE Canine First Aid course is to teach you the necessary knowledge and skills which will empower you to take positive action in the event of an emergency. Canine first aid is different than human first aid in that dogs cannot tell us what hurts and there is no ambulance to call for help. Prevention of injury is the key, however, accidents do happen. What you do between when an injury happens and when veterinary care is available will greatly affect a dog's chances of a full recovery.
